Surrender Is Survival

This world is very loud right now. This noise has sparked fear in so many lives. I speak to people daily that are outraged, hurt, confused, sad, or unclear about the next step to take.  They are essentially living life in fight, flight or freeze – aka Survival Mode. As a counselor and human being with 55+ years of living, I’ve found that survival is found in surrender.

The greatest way to affect change in the world as I see it right now, is with my own inner healing.  I cannot allow the chaos outside of me to take away focus on within. Within is where the greatest shift and change take place, and it’s this shift that organically changes the world around me.  It’s within that I am presented with inspiration that I can act on—not merely running around trying to ‘fix’ something.  Especially a something that very well might just be in its unfolding stages.

During this time of Lent, I will sacrifice the need to ‘do, ‘fix,’ and ‘force. When I breathe, my exhales will be a little slower and longer. And I’ll daily Ask Holy Spirit what Christ in Me really means in Colossians 1:27.

Surrender to the calling within and allow Holy Spirit to unfold this mystery.

Blessings,

Christie Arnold
