Substance

The other day, this word came to my mind: SUBSTANCE. I was immediately reminded of the scripture in Hebrews 11:1: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (KJV)

As I pondered that scripture, I decided to see how it was written in The Passion Translation (TPT) of the Bible, and I loved the way it reads:

“Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen.”

The Strong’s Concordance defines the word substance as assurance and confidence. So the question is: How confident and assured am I that I can look beyond what I see and feel and trust God in all circumstances?

For me, I need the SUBSTANCE of God’s Word to reinforce my faith. Sometimes it is hard, but it is necessary!

I trust these thoughts will minister to you and encourage you to “keep the faith.”

Blessings,
