Aging Gracefully
Joe and I married in August, 1961, so this year it will mark sixty-five years together!
When we married, we made the decision that church would always be a priority in our family. Our journey of following Christ has not always been easy. Along the way we have experienced the loss of family members, moments when we did not make the best parenting decisions, disagreements with each other, and even strained friendships.
Matthew 6:33 has been the foundation of our relationship with each other and with the Lord: Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness
and all these things will be added unto you. Several years ago, our children (Gayla and Alan) and I purchased a gold signet ring for Joe for his birthday and had it engraved with this scripture. It is a constant reminder of our commitment to Christ and each other!
The Word of God and learning so much from what we have been taught has sustained us in all of our relationships. Learning to walk in love and to forgive is so powerful!
Many years ago we found ourselves in a financial bind. We had heard about tithing, so we decided to make it a priority in our lives. We have never regretted that decision. God has so richly blessed us since that day!
We have now reached the later years and life is so fulfilling and precious to us. We hope we are truly “aging gracefully!”
God bless you all,
Linda Hardwick
