50 Years of Grace & Love

We are about to celebrate 50 years of serving some of the most amazing people I believe have ever walked the face of this earth.

When I was 20 years old, Buren and I became the pastors of New Life, now Eagles Way Church. Someone recently asked me if becoming a pastor was ever a goal or dream of mine. I thought about that for a while, and honestly, it wasn't. At 20 years old, I didn't really know who I wanted to be or what my future would hold.

But when God called us, He also placed a deep love and passion for His people inside of my heart. He knew what He had placed within me long before I ever recognized it myself. Even before I was conceived, He knew me, and He knew the purpose He had prepared for my life.

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart."
Jeremiah 1:5

The same is true for you. You don't have to have your whole life figured out. You don't have to know exactly what your calling is or what your future looks like. God isn't asking you to have all the answers—He's simply asking you to take the next step. When you are willing to move toward Him in faith, He will meet you there. He establishes your path, lays the foundation beneath your feet, and faithfully guides each step along the way.

"The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord."
Psalm 37:23

As I look back over these 50 years—and really, more than 50 years now—I can honestly say I wouldn't trade a single day. There have been victories and valleys, laughter and tears, but through it all, God has been faithful.

The greatest gift He has given me through this journey has been you!

The love you have poured into my life and the lives of my family has been sweeter than honey and more precious than gold. You have prayed for us, encouraged us, stood beside us, and loved us through every season. Those gifts cannot be measured, and they can never be repaid.

Thank you for giving us the privilege of serving you for these incredible 50 years. This journey could never have happened without each one of you, and our lives are richer because of your love and faithfulness.

I am deeply thankful for every one of you. I cherish you, I appreciate you, and I love you all more than words could ever express!

With so much love,

Barbara
