You Gotta Be You!

Living your calling starts with a decision—to follow Christ. God’s Word says that if you seek Him, you will find Him. But being authentically you isn’t as easy as it sounds. There’s a process of becoming comfortable in your own skin while discovering the calling God has placed on your life.

We live in a world full of influences. Even well-meaning parents can sometimes place expectations on their children that don’t align with the unique gifts and calling God has given them. The key to parenting is leading your children in the way they should go—so they can grow into who God created them to be and be authentically themselves.

As we grow up, the pressure only shifts. Middle and high school can make you feel like you have to blend in to belong. As adults, “keeping up with the Joneses” can pull you into trying to be someone you’re not—spending beyond your means or presenting a version of yourself that isn’t real.

But when God made you, He said, “It is good.” You were fearfully and wonderfully made in His image.

The only way to truly live as your authentic self is to seek after Christ and walk in the gifts and talents He’s placed inside of you. When you use those gifts to serve others, something powerful happens.

True fulfillment comes when you are free to be who God created you to be—using your gifts, doing what you love, and helping others discover who Jesus is in their own lives.

Keep Being YOU,

Will Doss
