Why Worry?

Posted on 08-06-2009
As I sit in my rocking chair enjoying the birds out side our window, about six humming birds are fluting around their feeder and the others birds are coming and going enjoying their seed.

I’m reminded that the birds do not worry.  We feed them faithfully and we do all that we know to do to care for them. They come and go according to weather, kind of trees that are available to them and the time of year and of coarse food. I have never had a bird beg us not to cut down a tree or trim a bush, they all seem to adjust to what is happening in their world. The harshest storms have come and the birds just wait for the storm to past and they always do. They do not worry about their world... I choose to believe that they have a trust in their creator and they live without fear.

I have received many wonderful things from my Mom but one of things that was model before me was worry. I bought in to worrying. I started early in life and practiced this unwanted practice most of my life. Then I read Hebrews 11; 6 ‘ And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe He exist and that He rewards those that earnestly seek Him.”

Faith is the oil in the machinery of life, worry is the sand.  I have too much sand in my life and I’m learning HOW to remove the sand.  In the next two Wednesday night classes, I will help you to understand if you deal with worry, what you worry about and how to start the path to worry free thinking.
Matt. 6:34 “Do not worry” this is not a divine suggestion. Jesus was forcing His followers to focus upon today.

I have played the “yeah-but game. “Yeah-but” Terry has cancer. “Yeah-but” there are times when the Lord hasn’t come through for me the way He should.  That is when I trying to play god.

We will be learning in class what we are saying about God when we worry.
Conquering worry is part of spiritual growth for me. Peace is the antidote for worry.
I’m on the path to worry free thinking. Come and join me August 12, 19 EWC 7pm.

See you at Eagles way Church
