My Job? What do I do when I feel shut off from Him, blocked, and cannot hear His voice? One thing I have learned in ministry is that God is faithful, He is always there, but may not always answer in my timing. My “Last Hour” is not always my last hour. Life does not always happen the way we think, but it does happen.
Where am I going with all this? What do we need to be doing in the meantime? What do we do until we get our answer? What do we do while we are unsure? I know for me a lot of times I do not realize it is God talking in a situation until after the fact. I look back on a situation & say, God was really working in that and I did not even realize it! The fact is God is always working, God is always talking, and God is always!
Most of the time it is we needing to stay faithful, stay consistent – We must continue to walk in what we already know, walk in what God has already said. When we “Need” to hear from Him, we sometimes forget to follow through with what has already said. When I find myself in a situation that I need an answer, I need something fresh, I need to know NOW – I go back to the last time I know I heard God & I begin doing what He showed me to do then. Nine out of ten times, I have stopped doing what He has already showed me to do. How many times do we tell our kids, “How many times do I have to tell you this” or if we don’t say it we think it.
God wants us to grow in our relationship with Him that means taking the things He has taught us & continue to apply them to our life. Do them until He shows us something new, until He answers and changes our direction. The Word says to know to do right & not do it – to him it is sin. I must do what God has showed me to do & when I have done that He WILL show me what is next.
