So I am in my office looking around at the walls and see reminders of all the things EWC Youth has done over the past 3 years that I have been here. There's lots of neat stuff we have done. From white water rafting in North Carolina and Tennessee, to helping rebuild houses in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. But the things I notice the most are the faces of the kids in the pictures on my walls. So young, so full of joy, so full of passion.
I see the face of the church of the future in these kids. I see the face of future leaders, pastors, missionaries, doctors, and so on and so on. I see hope in their eyes. I see a love for Jesus in their hearts. I see a longing to have a personal relationship with their Heavenly Father.
Our charge as adults is to help disciple these kids in the ways of Jesus. To love them where they are, and to lead them to a higher understanding of where they need to be. Maybe I have on Rose colored glasses when I look at these young people.... I like my glasses. 1 Timothy 4:12- Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.
Peace and Love.
