Anna Wha ??

I know, you thought I was going to talk about my fascinating and adorable granddaughter Anna, but not so.  It’s Anni-versary time for me…oh and for Buren.

Today is our 37th wedding anniversary.  Oh my goodness.  Where in the world did the time go?  I can’t be much older than 37 myself, can I?

It has certainly been an interesting journey.  It’s been a “Bed of Roses” (with the thorns) of course.  Anyone who says they have a perfect marriage, I wonder.   I would never try to convince you that the last 37 years have been easy.  As in any relationship, we’ve had our fair share of struggles, temptations, and battles. But, we have always come out on the better end of life!  Commitment has been the biggest factor in my life, excluding my relationship with Christ, of course.  I am so thankful that God taught me this essential ingredient for a successful marriage years ago. I am truly a blessed woman.

A blessed woman who chooses to forget those things which are behind and hold tightly to those things which are ahead.  And, I see wonderful things ahead in both our marriage and this great church.

On January 1, Buren and I will celebrate another anniversary – being the pastors of Eagles Way Church.  This January will mark our 34th year serving our greatest passion outside of our Creator and family.  How in the world did a 20-year-old girl have a clue about what it means to be a pastor’s wife?  She probably didn’t.

I’m thankful for His grace and mercies through it all.

I’m thankful for all of you.

You all have been such a blessing to my family and me for over 34 years.  Your prayers and support have carried us.  Because of your love and faithfulness, I am a blessed woman.  You have taught me what love, loyalty, friendship, and family is truly all about.  I wish there were words that could really express how much each of you means to me and how much I love you all.

Thank you for another wonderful year as your pastor’s wife.  And, Buren, thank you for these 37 years of being your wife.  I’m looking ahead with great anticipation for even greater things to come.

God is so good!
